A SCHOOLGIRL has designed a church Christmas card which is being delivered to households across Ilkley.
A nativity scene drawn by eight-year-old Phoebe Siddons has been chosen for the cover of this year’s Churches Together in Ilkley Christmas card. Phoebe is a pupil of All Saints Primary School.
Headteacher Michele Robinson, who helped pick the design, said: “The children submitted several super drawings. Phoebe’s stood out for its colourful depiction of the stable in Bethlehem.”
The youngster was presented with a large print-out of her cover and a voucher for a local bookshop.
Rev Mike Coe, vicar of All Saints church, said: “Phoebe’s imagination and use of colour really draws your eyes to the baby Jesus in the manger. On behalf of the churches, a big thank you to Phoebe.”
The card includes information on Christmas events at Ilkley’s eight churches. As well as listing services, it also carries details of other events the churches are holding.
