Volunteers from Rawdon in Bloom were out doing winter planting on Saturday.
Spokesman Phil Gomersall said: “The weather was kind to us despite the poor forecast. We had two new volunteers with us which made the task much easier and quicker. It always leaves you with a great sense of satisfaction when the task is finished knowing that is going to develop into something which will make Rawdon more attractive.
“It is a well know fact that being in a pleasant environment lifts your spirit and makes people happier.
“We have a new stock of 14,000 daffodil bulbs and will be having our first bulb planting session of the year on Green Lane, opposite new houses, on the November 2 at 9am. If anyone would care to join us you would be most welcome, even better if you could bring a spade.”
In September Rawdon in bloom was awarded a silver gilt at the Yorkshire in Bloom competition, improving on last years silver.
