OTLEY Town Council is considering adopting a pair of old telephone boxes.
The Policy and Resources Committee will discuss the plan, to safeguard the future of the two red phone boxes in the Market Place, when it meets on Monday, July 22.
The old phone boxes were included in a Buildings at Risk document which Leeds City Council published last year - and rated as being ‘in danger of falling into disrepair’.
Councillors will consider a proposal to adopt the boxes when it meets at the Otley Core, on Orchard Gate.
The meeting will follow on immediately from a meeting of the full council, which starts at 7pm.
Also on the agenda at Policy and Resources will be a resolution to support World Car Free Day on September 22, and a report about this year’s Christmas lights.
Councillors will also be asked to confirm the Subject Cry for this year’s Town Crier Competition.
