AN AWARD-WINNING young singer from Otley will hold a fundraising concert in town next weekend.
Emeli Mumford, who was recently presented with an Otley Achiever Award, is hosting the event at Otley Parish Church on Saturday, June 1.
The show, entitled A Night at the Musicals (and more), will see the 17 year old joined by local children - who she has been training through singing workshops - as she performs some of her favourite songs.
Doors open at 5pm with the music beginning at 5.30pm and tickets, available on the door, cost £3 with proceeds going to Save the Children. Refreshments and cakes will be available and there will also be a raffle.
Emeli said: “If you love a good musical this is the concert for you.” The Prince Henry’s Grammar School student created a charity single last year, Dear Santa, which included a choir made up of local children. Dear Santa raised more than £1,500 for Save the Children.
