THE COUNTDOWN to Red Nose Day 2019 has begun - and schoolchildren in Otley can’t wait.
Pupils from All Saints C of E Primary School got the one-month-to-go preparations underway when they visited Sainsbury’s Otley on Friday, February 15. The supermarket chain is one of Comic Relief’s main partners and the children donned some of its fundraising merchandise, including the famous red noses, for the occasion.
Headteacher Ian Thomson-Smith also got in on the fun. He said: “We’ll be doing a number of things for Comic Relief including a wear red to school day, where the children will pay to come in wearing something red, and a ‘make Miss Wilson laugh’ event.
“The Year 5s are also planning a Fairtrade cafe which will be an opportunity to promote fair trade while raising money for Comic Relief.” This year’s Red Nose Day takes place on Friday, March 15.
