CUSTOMERS who are missing shopping at Leaves and Linens, Brook Street, Ilkley, will be pleased to know that the owner, John Hawkridge, has not only recently qualified as a NAFAS judge, but has once again, taken first prize at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show earlier this month. Furthermore, John will be opening his garden on June 6 – Cobble Cottage at Whixley, North Yorkshire – for the National Gardens Scheme. Having not opened last year, John has now had the time to impress his personal skills on refining new areas within the garden and planting even more interesting and hard-to-find species. As always John will be looking forward to seeing his former Ilkley customers he now considers as his chums again, and catching up on the latest news.
The garden opens together with the Old Vicarage at Whixley and Well House, Marton cum Grafton.
The gardens are open between 1pm and 5pm and admission price for all three gardens is £6. For further information telephone John on 01423 331419.
