OTLEY Rotary Club will continue to help where it can despite the coronavirus outbreak.

In a report to the AGM president Peter Heald told members that despite their frustration at not now being able to do what they have always done to help in a crisis, the club would continue to do whatever it could to assist wherever possible.

Mr Heald told the meeting the Christmas lunch for elderly Otley widows, widowers and those living alone, had once again been a great success, with “delightful musical entertainment” by the children of Westgate Primary School.

The club has made a donation to the school’s music department and has also given money to CP Teens, BHF, the Parkinson Society, the Otley Food Bank, Otley Girl Guides and the British Legion. It has also given a £500 donation to Polio Plus. The club, which welcomes new members, has been holding its weekly meetings via Zoom.
