LILY, the robotic cat, became the third addition to Aireborough centres when she was presented Ghyll Royd Nursing Home in Guiseley.
The realist ‘pet’ was presented to nursing home manager Ann McGregor by Aireborough Rotary President Janet Appleton.
Rotary members have been fundraising to supply the therapeutic cats. The club has already made presentations to Memory Lane Day Care Centre in Yeadon and Sunningdale Nursing Home in Rawdon.
Community chairperson Sally Mohan said she was delighted by the response from all who had come into contact with the cats and the enthusiasm, pleasure and communication they generated. She now has one more presentation planned in Horsforth to cover all four of Aireborough’s Districts. The first two cats were bought with the proceeds of two fundraising walks. Further money was raised in October.
