GYMNASTICS CLUB: Aireborough Gymnastics Club won plaudits from Pudsey MP Stuart Andrew after he watched the display at Benton Park School’s Christmas fair. He said: “Aireborough Gymnastics Club have worked with thousands of local people throughout the past 42 years and the club continues to flourish as they currently train over 400 gymnasts. It was great to see so many people from the local community get involved in the first Christmas Fair that the club have ever held and the gymnastic display was outstanding and I am confident that many of performers have a great future ahead of them in this field. I would like to thank Victoria Wareing, director of the club, for inviting me along and also to all those who helped make it such a great day.”
ROTARY CLUB: The weekly meeting of the club on Tuesday evening last was the annual Christmas dinner attended by members, wives, members of Inner Wheel and guests. Following the traditional Christmas fare, the entertainment was provided by Three Three Fivers, a group whose programme consisted of a selection of seasonal carols interspersed with bouts of interludes by a magician. The club is now on holiday until the first meeting of the New Year on January 7 when the Rev Leslie Holmes, of Guiseley, will bring a New Year message.
