Supporters of Ilkley Lido and Bradford Council have agreed to produce an action plan and meet regularly during the summer season to address growing concerns about the outdoor pool.
Friends of Ilkley Lido (FOIL) met with representatives of the local authority following their public appeal for the council to address a range of issues.
As exclusively reported in the Gazette, FOIL raised concerns in a report to Ilkley Parish Council, ranging from maintenance issues to shortfalls in marketing the pool and long-term bids to fund improvements.
At a meeting last week, it was agreed to produce an action plan for the pool’s future, as well as hold monthly visits during open season for the Friends to discuss matters needing to be addressed promptly.
FOIL chairman, Louise Hale, said: “I think it was very useful to have had the discussion with the council. We feel, I think, more reassured we’ve got a better line of commun-ication with them.”
The two parties also agreed to hold quarterly meetings to discuss ongoing progress with long-term aims for the pool.
