Following a week of wet and miserable weather, the Nell Bank Outdoor Education Centre enjoyed a better conditions for a Diamond Jubilee family fun day on Saturday.
The centre, just north of Ilkley, hosted a range of activities from catching pond creatures to skiing down glaciers. The event was held to showcase the Ilkley centre, which sits near the River Wharfe and is surrounded by woodland, providing outdoor activities for children of all ages with special facilities for those with disabilities.
The day included an opening ceremony for a new bird hide, which will allow children and young people to discreetly watch birds and other wildlife around a large pond.
There was also the chance for young children to experience life as a squirrel, badger, mole or rabbit by going on a bear hunt.
