A silent disco, a sensory yurt and a drumming workshop are all part of a special music and arts festival.

Disability Rocks is hosting the festival at Nell Bank in Ilkley especially for people affected by disability, with the organiser offering a “great day out”.

The event takes places on Saturday, May 26, from noon until 8pm.

It will feature an eclectic mix of music, arts and interactive areas. There will also be a silent disco, a sensory yurt, a cinema tent and workshops in music singing and drama.

There will be two stages with an extensive line-up.

The bill includes comedian Laurence Clark, the Beathovens from Liverpool, the Loose Salute and Neil Halstead from Cornwall, along with the Inspiration choir and local acts including Roger Davies, Clear and Mid Life Crisis.

Food and drinks will be available and revellers can bring a picnic.

Disability Rocks founder Richard Sutton said: “With all needs for the disabled carefully considered, it feels great that we are able to offer a great day out to everyone, irrespective of their needs.”

Mr Sutton, who has a son with a rare genetic condition, set up the not-for-profit community company to present events for disabled people.
