One of Ilkley’s best known shops is closing.
Peter Jones, which sells china and cookery items, is closing its store on The Grove.
The family firm, founded in 1963, is known for having royal connections and is believed to be producing an exclusive range to mark The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, having received permission to create pieces a decade ago for her Golden Jubilee.
Last night, no one at the firm, which is based in Wakefield and has 10 shops and employs 120 people across Yorkshire, was available for comment.
