The family and friends of a woman who died of breast cancer are holding their second fundraising rounders tournament in her memory this weekend.
Ilkley mum Kim Robson died in November 2009, aged 45.
Being a keen player, her friends in the Ilkley Rounders team decided to organise a tournament in her honour, and last year’s inaugural event raised around £4,000 for the Marie Curie hospice in Bradford, where Mrs Robson spent her final days.
This year’s event takes place on Sunday, July 3, at Ghyll Royd School, Ilkley, with the first match at 11am.
As well as the rounders matches, there will be a barbecue, bar, raffle, bouncy castle, teas, coffee and cake and other stalls.
Entry is free and there is free car parking.
“We are keen to encourage spectators to come along and enjoy the fun and atmosphere whilst also helping raise vital funds for Marie Curie,” said one of the organisers.
“We raised over £4,000 last year and want to make this year’s event as, if not more, successful.”
Anyone interested in participating in any way should call (07714) 615936.
