An 18-year-old has been inspired to run 75 miles in three days to help the homeless in Japan.
Ellis Clark left Ilkley yesterday hoping to raise hundreds for Shelter Box, which supplies emergency survival equipment such as tents, blankets and water purification kits in disaster zones.
The former Ilkley Grammar School pupil, who has a Saturday job at Costa in Ilkley, took up the challenge after being moved by television coverage of the earthquake and tsunami.
Yesterday he was set to run to Buckden, he will reach Sedburgh today and Bowness tomorrow.
“Ellis stays fit by being a member of a gym, running and cycling but has never run a marathon let alone three in successive days,” said proud mum Ann Clark.
