Parents say disabled residents at sheltered housing in Ilkley are being put at risk by Bradford Council cuts.

They say the eight adults with physical and learning disabilities are being badly affected by the withdrawal of local authority funding for on-site support at Five Oaks, which has led to the tenants being told they could lose their home.

The flats on Ben Rhydding Drive are occupied by five women with hydrocephalus and encephalitis and three men with autism-related learning difficulties.

Two members of support staff, supplied by the Association of Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus (Asbah), are based at the accommodation during working hours, but are due to be made redundant today.

Arrangements are being made for floating support but last week tenants received a letter warning they could lose their homes if no care package was put in place.
