A trio of fundraising events has been lined up for one day of May to boost the town mayor of Otley’s charity.
Town councillor Ray Smith has already been involved in everything from selling bacon butties to organising a murder mystery evening to raise money for Otley Kids Matter.
But he is set to round off his year in office with a flourish when three fundraisers are held on Friday, May 6. They will include a six-mile sponsored walk on the Chevin, a ceilidh at St Joseph’s Primary School, and the mayor’s ball at the Chevin Country Park Hotel.
The walk has been organised by two regulars at Whitakers pub, where anyone interested in taking part can find out more. The ceilidh, meanwhile, costs £8, which includes a pie and pea supper. Tickets are available from Coun Smith on (01943) 461485 or from the school.
Tickets for the mayor’s ball, meanwhile – which has a black tie or lounge suit dress code – are also available from Coun Smith and cost £30.
Money raised for Otley Kids Matter will be shared between the town’s primary schools.
