I read the letter from Owen Wells with interest last week regarding our MP as I have received exactly the same response from my three letters to him - nothing.
I have written via the ‘write to your MP’ facility on the internet on three occasions.
My previous service from Ann Cryer, although I am not a Labour voter, had been excellent and on one occasion I received three letters updating me on a family matter.
I was pleased when Ilkley returned a Conservative member last May but I feel very disappointed that he cannot reply to his constituents, who indirectly pay his salary and expenses.
The issues I have raised with Kris Hopkins (pictured) include capital gains tax changes, VAT on fuel and the excessive increases in off-peak rail travel from Ilkley to Leeds.
On one occasion I directed my letter via Philip Davies, the Shipley MP, only to receive a response within 12 hours that he could not help me but had redirected my letter to Kris Hopkins. I have not received a response to this letter.
If our local MP is not available to deal with our concerns and local issues what is the next step, de-selection maybe?
