HEALTHCARE providers are to learn more of the latest proposals for services at the Ilkley’s new Coronation Community Hospital.

Primary care trust NHS Bradford and Airedale says it is informing people who provided services in the town of the outcome of talks last week – but more detailed proposals are not expected to be made public until September.

Partners in the proposed development met last week, and were expected to finalise details of what should be included in the new hospital. The services and facilities required could affect where the trust chooses to build the hospital.

The trust has yet to make these decisions public.

NHS Bradford and Airedale’s director of primary care, Helen Hirst, said: “We are currently in the process of informing people who provide services in Ilkley of the outcome of the meeting of the strategic partnering board which was held last week.

“This meeting was to finalise what needs to be included in the new development in Ilkley and whether those services were best delivered from the existing site or a new site.

“Options for this development will be discussed at a public board meeting in September. Our aim is to build the best healthcare facility within planned resources which meet the needs of the local community.”

The trust, which owns the Coronation Hospital’s current Springs Lane site, has been looking into the possibility of building on Bradford Council-owned land on Leeds Road, as well as the option of rebuilding on Springs Lane.

The latest proposals for the new hospital are also expected to be presented to Bradford and Airedale Care Partnerships Ltd, a joint venture set up to deliver LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust) projects across the Bradford District.
