A community website for Addingham has been given a new look to help villagers keep in touch with goings-on.

The Addingham village website, addingham.info, has been redesigned and rewritten to give it a more modern appearance, bring content up to date and make navigation easier.

The volunteer-run site aims to be a one-stop shop for information about Addingham, its history, and what is going on for both residents and visitors.

It is linked to its sister site, ilkley.org, which was also updated recently, but the Addingham site is run separately by Addingham volunteers Sam Britton and Don Barrett.

Free publicity and an events diary are provided on the sites for all local clubs and organisations, and free websites – plus training – are also available for local clubs.

Among the organisations which have already made of use of this are Addingham Civic Society, civicsociety. addingham.info, Addingham Drama Group , dramagroup. addingham.info, and Adding-ham Garden Friends, garden friends.addingham.info.

Information for tourists includes local accommodation, travel information and details of places to visit in the area.

The website’s history section has histories of the village, village schools and about ‘Addinghammers’ in the Great War, with more pages in preparation.
