The search will be on for the new Addingham Gala Queen and her attendants at a special disco for village children next week.
The gala committee is throwing a disco for children in school years 1 to 9 on Friday, May 14, to help them choose a new gala queen, to take over from Nell Carter, plus two boy attendants and two girl attendants.
The winning children will have the honour of taking pride of place in this year’s gala and joining in the gala parade.
The gala itself will take place on Saturday, July 10, and the theme for this year is The Movies.
Parents can get their application forms for the disco from Addingham Primary School, Addingham Post Office or Ilkley Grammar School.
The disco will take place from 6pm to 8pm. Youngsters who do not want to enter the selection process are still welcome to attend and enjoy the disco and party games.
Refreshments will be available. Parent helpers would be greatly appreciated.
