Oh dear, there they all were – all the hits of my youth in one musical. Dreamboats and Petticoats turned back the years – not just for me but obviously for the pounds of heaving flesh tempted into one last twist a la Chubby Checker as many ladies in the audience danced in the aisles.

Some superb music from Let’s Dance and Runaround Sue to Only Sixteen and Let’s Twist Again all performed by a vibrant and talented cast. This new musical was inspired by the million selling album of the same name.

The 60s were relived in a show full of nostalgia and wonderful music based around a heart-warming story of young love. There were some wonderful performances by Josh Capper as the lovelorn Bobby, Jonathan Bremner as the swaggering Norman, Carolynne Good as Sue and Daniella Bowen as Laura.

Gareth Leighton as Ray as Clare Ivory as Donna had pivotal roles providing most of the ironic comedy lines. This was a very strong cast all round providing a great night out. Tickets from the box office on 01274 432000.
