Controversial Tesco supermarket plans will be determined at just one meeting in Ilkley next month, planners have announced.

Bradford Council says the fate of plans for a bigger new store off Rail-way Road, and to redevelop the existing supermarket site on Springs Lane, will be decided by Keighley area planning panel on Monday August 3.

The plans will no longer need to go before a regulatory and appeals committee meeting, originally scheduled to take place at Ilkley’s King’s Hall two days later.

The crunch Keighley planning panel meeting will be held at the King’s Hall, starting at 10am.

The council said: “As both proposals are of local significance it has been decided by the council that it is appropriate for the Keighley planning panel to determine the planning applications sitting in the Ilkley area. This would take place without need for referral to another council planning committee.”
