RYANAIR has named the Spanish city of Girona and the Croatian coastal destination of Zadar among its top “hidden gem” destinations available from Leeds Bradford Airport this summer.
The airline said the two locations offer travellers an alternative to some of Europe's busier tourist hotspots, while still providing culture, history and sunshine.
Girona, in north-east Spain, has been highlighted for its mix of historic architecture, Catalan culture and renowned local cuisine. Ryanair said visitors can enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere away from larger tourist destinations.
Meanwhile, Zadar, on Croatia’s Adriatic coast, has been singled out for its historic old town, waterfront setting and clear waters. The city is also known for its seafood restaurants and nightlife.
The destinations form part of Ryanair’s summer 2026 programme from Leeds Bradford Airport, where the airline is operating 25 routes.
Ryanair said it will operate four flights a week between Leeds Bradford and Zadar during the summer season, with fares available from £29.99.
Jade Kirwan, Ryanair’s Director of Communications, said: “If you’re looking for a bit of summer holiday inspiration, look no further – Ryanair has revealed two incredible must-visit ‘hidden gem’ destinations to try this summer from Leeds Bradford Airport – Girona and Zadar.
