SUE Ryder is encouraging runners to sign up for this year’s Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon and help raise vital funds for its expert palliative and bereavement support.
The charity, which provides compassionate end of life care to families across the region through Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice and its community services, is inviting both seasoned runners and first timers to take on the challenge this May.
Runners who join Team Sue Ryder will receive dedicated support from the charity’s fundraising team, a Sue Ryder running vest, and regular training and fundraising tips. On race day, they’ll also be cheered on by Sue Ryder volunteers and supporters along the route.
Adam Brunskill, Senior Community Fundraiser at Sue Ryder, said: “We’d love to welcome more runners to Team Sue Ryder this year. Every person who takes on the Leeds Marathon for us helps ensure we can continue providing expert, compassionate care for people at the end of their lives, and support for families facing grief. Whether you’re a first timer or a seasoned marathoner, we’ll be with you every step of the way.”
