THE gloves are going on; the bags are ready and the Great Bradford Spring Clean is ready to start.
The annual spring clean, taking place from March 13 to 29, aims to improve the local environment and foster a sense of civic pride.
Residents, local business, schools and community groups are being asked to come together to help make a positive impact in their neighbourhood while working together to protect the environment.
Anyone wanting to organise a community clean-up can contact their local area co-ordinator's office:
For residents of Ilkley and Addingham the contact is the Keighley office on 01535 618008 or email: keighleyareacoordinatorsoffice@bradford.gov.uk
For Menston and Burley-in-Wharfedale residents the contact is the Shipley office on 01274 437146 or email: shipleyareaoffice@bradford.gov.uk
The council will supply bin bags and a bag collection service and provide advice to help residents and communities to get involved in the campaign.
Cllr Sarah Ferriby, Portfolio Holder for Healthy People and Places, said: “This is a great opportunity to get involved in a community event to make our streets cleaner and more attractive. We always have great support for our Spring Clean so I am sure it will also get a great response this year too.”
