ILKLEY Toy Museum, on Whitton Croft Road, Ilkley, is hosting a special event for Leeds Art Fund members although non-members are also welcome, on September 24, from 6pm.
There will be plenty of time to view the entire collection which ranges in date from the 4th century BC to the present day whilst enjoying a glass of wine and canapes. John and Alex Samuel, owners of the museum, will introduce the collection and talk about its history. The museum's collection of Abbatt Toys will be on display for the first time.
Ilkley resident, Professor Ann Sumner (Leeds Art Fund vice-chair) will give a short talk on the sculptor Freda Skinner who was also a designer for Abbatt Toys. There will be an opportunity to meet afterwards in local restaurant Quinta on Wells Road. Non Art Fund members are very welcome and tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite - search for Leeds Art Fund.
All proceeds go to the Leeds Art Fund - a charity which supports the purchase of artworks and objects for the permanent collection of Leeds Museums and Galleries.
