Bramhope & Carlton Parish Council has chosen Parkinson's UK as its charity to support and raise awareness of this year.
Chair of the Parish Council, Hilary Harris, is the charity fundraiser and over the past few years has used her enthusiasm for playing table tennis to raise funds for the nominated charities.
Hilary said: "When I started fundraising on behalf of the Council I thought it may be a novel idea to play non stop table tennis for five hours in order to get sponsorship. Every year I have increased the playing time by one hour and, because last year it was such a lucrative fundraiser, this year I am aiming to play non stop for eight hours."
The event takes place at Bramhope Village Hall on Saturday, September 14 between 9.30am and 5.30pm. Anyone is welcome to come along to play against Hilary and there will be a second table available for play. Sponsorship forms will be available on the day or there is a Just Giving page under Hilary's name.
