THIS year Inner Wheel, founded by Margarette Golding in Manchester, is 100 years old.
Individual members were challenged by their association president to choose something and do it 100 times.
Aireborough Inner Wheel President Anne Parker decided to walk 100 miles along the Leeds Liverpool canal to Parbold, Lancashire, spread over a handful of days.
Whiteknights Yorkshire Blood Bikes is President Anne’s charity this year. Sponsorship came in from friends, family and Inner Wheel members totalling £2,765. A cheque was last week handed over to Matthew Beynon-Tullett and John Nettleship, of Whiteknights.
There was a surprise when Matthew gave Anne a special award for her organisation’s outstanding efforts, an award only normally given to major donors.
