CHRIS Power, headteacher of Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Primary school in Yeadon, completed a ‘Hat Trick of Half Marathons’ on Thursday, June 6, in memory of Mrs Annette Martini, the mother of a pupil at his school who sadly passed away in December after battling bowel cancer.
Mr Power took part in the Wilmslow half marathon on March 24, followed by the Alnwick Castle half marathon on May 26.
His final half marathon was a bespoke route on June 6 near to his school in Yeadon. For the final 5k of this run, he was joined by Mrs Martini’s husband, Dominic, and their two children Benedict and Luca.
The route finished at Ss Peter and Paul Catholic Primary school where the school community gathered with banners, claps and cheers.
Mr Power has raised over £5,300 so far which will be split between St Gemma’s Hospice where Mrs Martini was cared for, and the school PTA.
