Outside the Box in Ilkley was delighted to host the official launch of an EP by talented, local singer-songwriter Imogen Dickinson.

The EP launch marked a major milestone in Imogen’s journey as a musician. She is well-known from her many performances including at the 2023 Ilkley Christmas lights switch on as well as regular appearances at Outside the Box events and at ‘Open Mic’ nights at Martinez Wines. Titled ‘Thank You’ the EP is a collection of original compositions that showcase her beautiful vocals and gifted song writing.

The launch saw Imogen treat the audience to a selection of cover songs, setting the stage for the unveiling of her original tracks from the EP. Each song was accompanied by a personal anecdote, offering insight into the inspiration behind her heartfelt lyrics.

One particular moment that left a lasting impression was when Imogen performed her song 'Thank You”. There wasn't a dry eye in the house as she dedicated the song to her parents. This song was also the chosen song for the international Kabuki Syndrome Information Day held earlier this year. The charity felt that it was an appropriate way to say thank you to the speakers and researchers especially Professor Sid Banka and his team. This was a huge achievement for Imogen who herself has Kabuki Syndrome.

Imogen's EP launch was a testament to her talent and resilience, and the support of her community was palpable throughout the evening. In a touching speech, Imogen expressed her gratitude to all those who had helped her realise her dream.

She said: "I never thought in a million years I would be standing here with my own EP. Thank you to the lovely, wonderful Outside the Box, for letting me have the EP launch here. I hope you all enjoy the night."

Amy Day, Marketing and Communications Officer at Outside the Box said: “Imogen is one of our original members at Outside the Box and has been a valued member and client for over 10 years. We are honoured to have been able to support her both in regard to this celebration event and in helping her achieve her life goals. Thank you to all who attended the event, it meant everything to Imogen. Such a lovely evening for all.”

Imogen's EP 'Thank You' is now available for purchase and it can be ordered from Outside the Box café. It will also be available soon on streaming platforms.
