ILKLEY Round Table celebrated their 73rd year of membership of the Round Table organisation with a dinner and dance held at the King’s Hall and Winter Gardens on Friday, April 12.
Members and supporters of the charity enjoyed an evening of food and dancing with the Roosters Ceilidh band.
Round Table National President Chris Bush was in attendance and pulled the numbers out of the hat for the raffle which raised over £800 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Chris’ national charity for his presidential year was Air Ambulances – which he settled upon after meeting representatives from Yorkshire Air Ambulance at the Ilkley Half Marathon when he ran it in 2022.
Ilkley Round Table have now raised over £1,800 for Yorkshire Air Ambulance over the course of the year. Ilkley Round Table supports local charities and good causes through applications to it, following two major fund-raising events that the group organise – Ilkley Beer Festival and the Ilkley Half Marathon. This year, Ilkley Round Table has become the largest in the country and is consistently high up in the amount of money distributed to good causes – over £86,500 last year.
