TO mark World Parkinson's Day Otley man Richard Parkin held a launch party at Otliensians Rugby Club for his recently published book “Be Reet” A Life With Parkinson’s.
The book covers Richard’s life since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s nine years ago, talking about his diagnosis, the symptoms and how they have affected him, and what he does to ensure he doesn’t endure his life, he enjoys it.
Richard was joined by friends to celebrate the book launch with special thanks going to two other local lads, Mark Currie, who was responsible for the book’s design and Phil Waite for his invaluable support. Copies of the book are available by contacting Richard at raggersparkin@aol.com
World Parkinson’s Day was on Thursday, April 11, 2024. It is a day to raise awareness and understanding for the world’s fastest growing neurological disorder, for which there is still no cure.
