HEAVY vehicles have been banned from a picturesque cobbled street under a new traffic order.
Work to repair Thwaites Brow Road in Keighley, also known as The Twines, began earlier this year.
It was funded with £190,000 of the Keighley Towns Fund, and will see setts repaired and installed in areas that have been repaired with modern materials in recent years.
A new traffic order, which came into force on Monday, April 15, is designed to prevent heavy vehicles from travelling over a stretch of the steep road.
The order prevents vehicles that weigh over 7.5 tonnes from travelling up Thwaites Brow Road from a point 50 yards after its junction with Thwaites Bridge up to Bank Top Way, Long Lee.
Bradford Council said that anyone who wishes to question the validity of the order, or the legality of it, is advised to apply to the High Court within six weeks of the order being made on 11 April.
