OTLEY'S Town Crier, Terry Ford, will introduce visitors to Otley Green Fair on Saturday, April 13, from 10am to 4pm.
This free event takes place at Otley Courthouse and will offer stalls, workshops and Morris dancing.
A spokesperson for Otley Green Fair said: "The emphasis is on being kind to nature and the environment. Both Start Birding and Leeds Swifts have stalls, whilst Wharfedale Men’s Shed provide the bird boxes. There are willow baskets, and gifts made from recycled or upcycled materials.
"Local organisations are well-represented and include Friends of Gallows Hill, Wharfedale Naturalists, Friends of Chevin Forest, Fruit Works Co-operative, Abu Bakr Scholarship Fund, Wharfedale Greenway, Wildlife Friendly Otley, Otley 2030 and Otley Community Larder. You can find out more about any or all of these, with details of how you can contribute to a ‘greener’ Otley and wider world.
"In the morning the workshops for adults and children are haiku writing with Jo Cremins and wood carving with Dan Ward. In the afternoon you can do nature crafts with Sarah Shorter or decorate a calico bag with vegetable prints with Vickie Orton (small charge for materials).
"The Rainbow Morris side will be dancing and encouraging you to join in too! The café will be open serving tasty vegetarian and vegan food."
