ILKLEY Lawn Tennis and Squash Club has joined Airedale Hospital and Community Charity (AHCC) as a corporate partner.

The tennis and squash club will be supporting the charity in its fundraising activities and appeals. This will include working together on the club’s annual Lexus Ilkley Trophy competition in the summer, considered to be one of the highlights of the summer grass court season and the largest tournament in the North of England.

AHCC is the dedicated charity of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, which raises funds to support and enhance patient care, employee wellbeing and local community services.

Jodie Hearnshaw, charity manager says of the partnership: “We are delighted to be working with Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club – this will be an exciting new partnership and we look forward to exploring fundraising ideas and activities with the team at the Club. Corporate fundraising plays a vital part in our fundraising success, and this is a wonderful opportunity to work with such a well-respected local sports club.”

Ilkley Lawn Tennis and Squash Club has a long history, stretching back to 1880. With an enviable position beside the river Wharfe, the club boasts great facilities for multi-sports including grass tennis courts, squash, outdoor padel court and racket ball.

Chris Harrison is the General Manager of the tennis club and says: “As a club, we have always supported local community programmes. This is an ideal partnership, where both organisations can really benefit from working together on fundraising activities that support the local area and that gives back to the community we both serve.”

The partnership kicked off with an 1980's themed disco earlier this year, when both members and the general public partied to 80s tunes to raise funds for AHCC. The sell-out event raised an amazing £570 for AHCC, a great start to the partnership.
