THE Bramhope branch of The Royal British Legion is holding a special event on Saturday, June 1in Bramhope Village Hall from 10am to 2pm to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
The event is not only to raise money for the Royal British Legion but to raise awareness and most importantly to remember.
There will be stalls, entertainment, and a raffle. People coming to the event will be encouraged to dress up in 1940s costume to give the event a really historical flavour.
The Bramhope Branch of the Royal British Legion is asking local organisations, businesses and individuals to help make this event truly memorable, a celebration of a turning point in world history.
There will be a meeting on Wednesday, March 27 at 7 pm at Bramhope Village Hall for everyone who wishes to get involved.
Sophie Jeffery, the event organiser said: "We are looking for volunteers to help with the organisation and the run up to the event, anyone who wishes to have a stall at the event, people who wish to donate raffle prizes, and help on the day itself. I look forward to seeing you at this first meeting. If you have any further questions regarding the event, you can contact me by email on. sophiehannahlouise777@gmail.com”
