EASTER Saturday sees the return of Ilkley Vintage Fair to Ilkley Playhouse. The theatre will play host to 20 retro specialists from across the north of England, each bringing a host of nostalgic items for shoppers to peruse and buy.

The Weston Road venue will throw open its doors at 10am on Saturday, March 30 with the chance for visitors to browse stalls featuring vintage clothing for women and men, homeware, vinyl, kitchenware, furniture, toys and many more classic items.

The fair will also see the return of Interlude Tea Room from Shipley, selling savoury and sweet food and hot and cold drinks to keep visitors refreshed.

Organiser Jill Coulson. of Burley-in-Wharfedale business Alfie Robot Retro says shoppers should expect a fun and friendly atmosphere. She said: “The spring fair is always a bustling event. Ilkley is alive with tourists as well as locals looking to get out and about and try something different. I am excited about the range of stallholders we have and the amazing stock they will bring, ranging from the 1920s to the 1980s. From kitsch to classic and everything in between.”

One of the traders appearing at the fair will be Bradford-based Jade Clarke of Clarke and Co Vintage. She said: “My stall will be full of fabulous mid-century treasures, including Hornsea pottery and plenty of Pyrex. Ilkley will be my first vintage fair as a seller and I’m so thrilled to be taking part.”

One stallholder returning to the Ilkley Vintage Fair is Emma Shaw, of Hebden Bridge business Light Fandango, which sells handmade lampshades in an array of vintage fabric. She said: “We are so excited to be returning to Ilkley Vintage Fair this year, it’s one of our favourite events to do. There’s always an amazing mix of traders with a huge variety of products – definitely something for everyone.”

Ilkley Vintage Fair takes place at Ilkley Playhouse on Saturday, March 30. Doors are open from 10am until 4pm and entry is £1 per person (under 16s are free).
