PEOPLE interested in finding how live-in care could be a practical and affordable care option for older family members are invited to attend an event being organised by Home Instead Ilkley.

The company is holding a free-to-attend event on Monday, March 4 at 11.30am at the Clarke Foley Community Hub in Ilkley.

It is part of a series of ‘Key To Care’ sessions which support anyone keen to learn more about how to help their loved ones overcome the challenges of old age. They are held at the community hub at the same time, on the first Monday of every month.

Simon White, Director of Home Instead Ilkley said: “Very often, somebody’s care journey begins with them receiving care at home for a few hours a week. There was a time when people would think that if care needs increase, there’s no alternative to moving out of home and into residential care. I’m so pleased to see that awareness of other options, particularly live-in care, is growing."

He added: “People should have the choice to stay at home for as long as possible. Live-in care allows people to stay put, maintain independence and keep autonomy over their lives."

Home Instead’s live-in care could be a practical option for people returning home from hospital who need a period of enhanced support, or to support individuals with long-term health conditions such as dementia, Parkinson’s or stroke recovery, providing ongoing support to maintain independence and quality of life.
