ALL Saints’ Church of England Primary School in Ilkley, is celebrating after receiving ‘Good’ across the board in its recent Ofsted Inspection in December 2023.

The report highlights the many strengths of this ambitious school where ‘pupils achieve highly’, ‘enjoy their learning’ and ‘behave well’.

Inspectors report new leaders have brought around recent and rapid change ‘to ensure that the whole curriculum matches the high achievements of pupils in English and mathematics.’ Pupils feature centrally in the report, and state how proud they are to attend All Saints’; share their knowledge, learning and achievements; and represent our school at the many extra – curricular opportunities on offer. The report celebrates how they demonstrate ‘good attitudes to learning’, make a difference through their leadership roles’ and how ‘pupil voice helps to shape the wider offer’ at school.

Ofsted describe how ‘the school is effective in helping pupils make a positive start to reading’ and how ‘the inclusive nature of the school and the quality of SEND provision enables all children to achieve well’. Pastoral support for children includes wellbeing sessions at its onsite Forest School.

From their very earliest days at All Saints’, children flourish with Ofsted highlighting ‘In early years, staff establish warm and caring relationships between themselves and pupils. Leaders and staff set clear routines and expectations around behaviour. This continues through school.’ It adds that: ‘Through school links, pupils gain an understanding of life in other parts of the region and internationally.’ ‘School visits and visitors to school enhance the curriculum further.’ ‘Pupils know how to keep themselves safe online and in the community.’

Mrs Helen Dunn, Headteacher, welcomed the report’s findings saying: "I am incredibly proud to lead such a dedicated staff team, who always go above and beyond to ensure the children receive an excellent education including many wider opportunities. I would like to also acknowledge the incredible support from parents, governors and the community that has enabled us to achieve this great result."

The school has recently become a two form entry school and has places available in some year groups.
