HEROIC Philippa Monaghan and friends braved the monsoon like conditions of New Year's Day to take part in the Menston Thespians winter pantomime trail around Menston village's main streets.
Buying a trail form from the local library, participants had to find out where various shops and local businesses had displayed a poster featuring several characters from Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood Menston Thespians latest production There was also an anagram puzzle to solve.
In winning the competition , Philippa got right on target in true Robin Hood style. She was presented with free tickets to the Grand Opening Night show. The winning prize also included two cast signed books kindly donated by the Grove Book shop in Ilkley. The books featured Hansel and Gretel by Michael Morpurgo and Robin Hood by Usborne books.
Publicity Officer Keith Galvin said: "This poster trail event is now becoming an annual event in the Menston Festive Calendar. It enables families to have fun, especially in the quiet period after Christmas. We are also very grateful to the engaging staff at the Grove Book shop.
Menston Thespians annual panto take place on Thursday, February 15th until Saturday, February 17th at Kirklands Community Centre, Menston.
