On Thursday, January 18th the Otley Beer Festival committee in partnership with Otley Rugby Club presented cheques for £1,000 each to the charities Otley Food Bank and St George’s Crypt.
Rosemarie Utley (Treasurer for Otley Food Bank) and Helen Brownridge (Deputy CEO of St. George’s Crypt) had also both been volunteers at the festival last November.
Chair of Otley Beer Festival Committee Ian Bearpark said: "It was the first time we had been able to hold the event at the rugby club since Covid. ‘Beer of the Festival’ was won by Wilde Child Brewery for their ‘Viridian Disguisement’, a toffee apple porter – it was the fourth time that a Wilde Child beer had won Beer of the Festival. The winner’s certificate was accepted on behalf of the brewery by Steve Day who had sponsored the beer. This was OBF’s first festival in partnership with Otley Rugby Club based on sharing costs and money raised for their chosen charities. Otley Rugby Club intend to donate their share to a Motor Neurone Disease charity.
"More pictures are available on the website www.otleybeerfestival.co.uk and we look forward to this year’s festival once again in November."
