AN URGENT appeal has been made for volunteers to come forward and save Yeadon Carnival.
There are fears the much loved carnival and parade won't be able to go ahead this year unless more people come forward to become committee members.
A spokesperson for Yeadon Carnival said: "Dwindling numbers of volunteers and committee members have put a strain on the remaining helpers and unfortunately since the 2023 carnival a number of committee members have needed to step back due to other commitments.
"We have a huge gap in the roles which need to be filled in order to ensure the carnival can go ahead and be safe – with regret, if we cannot fill these roles and get more people onboard to help organise and run the event your Yeadon Carnival will not go ahead!
"You don’t need any experience – just willing to give some time and effort to organising and planning the event and running things on the day.
"Please contact the committee for more details –yeadoncarnivalcommittee@gmail.com. No helpers equals no carnival."
