ASKWITH Primary School recently performed their KS2 panto, Cinderella, at the Clarke Foley Centre in Ilkley with great success.

Following intense rehearsals, dedicated dance and song routines, the children put on a fantastic performance leaving the audience proudly laughing in their seats.

Parent Gemma Newbould said: "What a wonderful production! The children were so impressive. My son had an amazing time taking part. What a great experience to learn the show and then perform on stage. We loved it and feel very proud of all involved."

Parent Rohan Akers said: "The panto performed by your Key Stage 2 students on Friday was brilliant. A theatrical delight that had the whole room roaring with laughter. The script and choreography was so cleverly written and delivered with such skill. The clear development of year six students to display such confidence and stage presence in front of a 100 plus strong audience was striking. Our daughter has loved being part of the this. Well done to everyone involved."

Parent Angela Palmer parent said: "I just wanted to say how wonderful the panto was on Friday. The children (and the teachers!) had all worked so hard and it showed - they were all brilliant and we enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you very much everyone for putting on such a fantastic show! It's bitter-sweet as this will be the last year that we get to be involved in and watch it, so this one was extra special. We will never forget her time preparing for and being in the production as Buttons."

Parent Danielle Osinski said: "What a wonderful show! All the children and staff did Askwith School proud and it will be added to the many happy memories of Isla's time at Askwith. It was a joy to watch!"

Head teacher Mrs Elaine Nayler believes such curriculum enhancement gives the children the opportunity to promote their self confidence and develop public speaking skills before moving onto secondary school. "Working and having fun together as a team is vital and has provided the opportunity for hidden talents to emerge," she said.

There are places available in the school and nursery, which is rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted.
