I have for a while been concerned by the shops in our towns that leave their doors open in hot and cold weather so that the heat or air conditioning have to work overtime and hence must waste hundreds of pounds in fuel as well as adding to the destruction of our environment.
When asking some of the shops about it the main reply is that they want people to know they are open!
While legislation on this matter would be too long coming can we, as customers, do something about it and politely ask our shops to operate a closed door policy?
