THE Craven and District Badminton League which attracts clubs from both Pendle and Craven, held their annual level doubles tournament at Sandylands Sports Centre recently and the committee took the opportunity to present retiring President, Derek Seed with a gift as a token of their appreciation for his service to the League.
Long serving President, Seed retired from his post at the end of last season, ending an association with badminton of over 50 years. The Settle club player has been a stalwart of the League, having been President for 30 years and held other roles previous to that too, but generally been a fantastic advocate and role model to badminton players in the local area.
Although sad to be stepping down, Seed said: “I’m glad to see badminton thriving well locally and I wish the League and its clubs all the best for the future.”
