ILKLEY'S Pinsuti Chamber Choir celebrates Christmas with an incredible selection of Christmas music, both old and (very) new, including its favourite jazz and Gospel influenced carols from America, and some brand new arrangements of carols from the newly published “Carols for Choirs 6”.

This year sees the 100th anniversary of The Oxford University Press music department, and they have commissioned new works and arrangements from young composers: Pinsuti will be singing some of the best, including “Coventry Carol”, “In Dulci Jubilo” and “The Rose”.

The concert is in St Andrews Church on Newmarket Street in Skipton on Saturday, December 16 beginning at 4pm.

The choir also include some Scandinavian delights, with Gjeilo’s “Wintertide”, and "Vuelie" by Frode Fjellheim (possibly better known as the theme tune to the “Frozen” films). Normally singing unaccompanied, Pinsuti will be joined for some of the carols by pianist Anthony Gray, and there is very likely to be some trumpet playing from their choral director Robert Webb before the evening is out.

The concert will run to around 6pm. Tickets are £12 on the door or via Eventbrite (booking fee applies). Free admission for under 18s.
