THE Ilkley Macmillan Fashion show committee were delighted to be back hosting the much-loved annual fashion show.

Macmillan services are urgently needed now, more than ever, to support the 179,000 people living with cancer in Yorkshire.

One hundred and fifty guests joined the evening held at The Craiglands Hotel for a two-course supper and a fabulous fashion show, including men's and women’s Autumn fashion showcasing independent retailers, hosted by Andrew Dobson and Rachel Peru. Guests also enjoyed some shopping time before the show with an array of independent stall holders including jewellery, women’s fashion, and accessories, and lots of Christmas gift inspiration.

Rachel said: "We are proud to support local business in Ilkley and it was great to showcase 12 local retailers, offering a wide selection of fashion, something for everybody on the catwalk.

"The committee would like to thank all the retailers involved who support the show each year including Attic Womenswear, Boutique Olé, Crew Clothing, Fig and Willow, Main Boutique, Millinery by Maud, The Fitting Room, The Ilkley Dress Agency, The Ilkley Shoe Company, Time and Time Again, and 5th Avenue.

"We’d like to say a big thank you to all the model volunteers. This year saw our biggest collection of models yet with over 40 involved, who brimmed with confidence down the catwalk and helped make it a very special evening. Some who have supported this event for years and some walking for the very first time.

"Whilst we were all very excited to be back having fun it’s also important to remember why we support such a crucial and much needed charity. Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer. Macmillan speech and language therapists Jessica Wakeling and Claire Fernyhough, who are based at Airedale Hospital, shared more about the valuable work they do and reminded us all why this charity is so important.

"We are proud to announce the evening raised £7433.00 for the much needed Macmillan charity and we are now looking forward to building on this year’s success with next year’s date in the diary.

"Save the date! Friday 4th October 2024."

The committee would like to extend special thanks to event sponsors for their wonderful support and those that kindly donated raffle prizes, including the generosity of JCT 600, Vertu Motors, The Ticket Office and everyone that helped make the evening such a success.

If any local businesses or retailers would like to be involved in the 2024 event, email for more information.
