It is always a sign that Christmas is well and truly on the horizon when the much-loved local community choir, Ilkley Moornotes announce their Christmas concert date.
This year the concert will be held in Christchurch on Saturday, December 2nd at 7.30pm. The concert is supported by the Ilkley Arts Festival The choir will be singing a variety of Christmas favourites as well as other festive music that they love to sing.
"The Christmas concert is always one of the high points of the year for the choir and me. It is a time for bringing the joy of singing to our local community and somehow it feels even more important at this troubled time in our world," says Kate Stevens, Moornotes choir leader.

All profits will go to three chosen charities – Outside the Box, Shelter and The Amos Trust.
Ilkley Moornotes is a community choir based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. The choir sings primarily for its own pleasure, though also love the increasing number of public performances The Musical Director is Kate Stevens. Kate's background in music is predominantly in singing, both as a performer and teacher. Her love of music led her to Leeds to study her Masters in Music Performance at the University of Leeds The choir meet Mondays, 7.15-9.15pm, school term-times in Ilkley.
Enquiries from potential new members are always welcome. No formal auditions or ability to read music are required, though members should be able to hold a tune. Balancing the numbers in each voice part and other practical constraints do, however, limit the size of the choir.
