HIGH Speed Training, a leading online training provider based in Ilkley, has placed 14th in the Best Companies to Work for in the Yorkshire and Humberside region.

The results, which were announced at an award ceremony in London this month, aim to recognise and celebrate organisations that are leading the way in employee engagement.

Founded in 2008, High Speed Training delivers more than 180 specialist courses for various industries including hospitality, food manufacturing, education, construction, and health and social care. These cover topics ranging from health and safety and food hygiene, to safeguarding, personal development and core skills.

The company, who have supported over 2.5 million learners, also placed 25th in the Best Mid-Sized Companies to work for in the UK and fourth in the Best Companies in the Education and Training Sector.

Earlier in 2023, High Speed Training made the move to become an Employee Owned Trust and is now wholly owned by its employees. This enables staff to have a financial and directional say in how the business operates.

Additionally, the business was awarded B Corp status in March, a certification from global non-profit B Lab which ensures that businesses meet high standards of social and environmental impact, underlining the company’s commitment to creating positive impacts on its staff, customers and the environment.

Carole Urey, CEO at High Speed Training, said: “Everyone here at High Speed Training is so proud of our placement in this year’s Best Companies League Tables. As a business, we’re thoroughly committed to our values, which are centred around themes of teamwork, development, and compassion. We continue to nurture our culture of caring, and our success at the Best Companies awards is a tribute to this ongoing dedication.

“As the business continues to grow, we intend to keep our staff and customers at the heart of all of our decisions, as we believe this is what makes High Speed Training a great place to work. Additionally, we’re excited to maintain and expand our charity partnerships, using our Force for Good mentality to help the wider community.

“On behalf of the whole team here at High Speed Training, I’d like to thank Best Companies for this recognition, and express our excitement for the future of our workplace.”

These recent successes improved on the company's results in 2022’s awards, where they finished 39th in the Best Small Companies to work for in the UK, and 18th and 4th respectively in the Yorkshire & Humber region and the Education sector.

Best Companies was launched in 2001, and its Best Companies to Work For Lists and Best Companies Accreditation are now recognised as the standard in workplace engagement.
